As Sri Lankans, we celebrate Sinhala and Hindu New Year in a grand moment from April 13 to 15. April is the fruitful month and the season of spring in the year – the month that the beauty of nature enhances and shows the comfort of the upcoming new season. Along with all these traditions, there are special games particular to the awurudu season.
Taking this into consideration, the Gampaha District Youth Commission Sri Lanka Team organized a program to mark New Year for selecting Awurudu Kumara And Awurudu Kumariya.
Under that before 2021.04.16 Youths have sent their beautiful pictures not only as Awurudu Kumara and Kumariya, but also represent with an action related to protect the Environment with their vision about the environment.
After gathering all of pictures and visions of Awurudu Kumara and Kumariya from all over the country, the young people who sent the best photos and their visions about Environment as Awurudu Kumara and Kumariya to the YCSL Team were selected and appriciated by uploading them into the YCSL Official Facebook Page.
